01: (Saturday) ARRIVAL TO CAIRO
Arrive Cairo, staff assists with clearing immigration and customs then staff will transfer you to the Cairo Marriott or the Hilton Zamalek. At either you will have a Nile view Deluxe room. Overnight Cairo
VISAS: All travelers to Egypt are required to obtain a visa for entry. Citizens of certain countries can currently obtain one on arrival however this is subject to change without notice.
Day 02: (Sunday) EGYPTIAN NATIONAL MUSEUM, FLY TO LUXOR, KARNAK SOUND AND LIGHT
Spend the day touring the Egyptian
National Museum featuring King
Tut's treasures. Includes entry to the Royal mummy room. Afterwards staff transfers you to the airport, assists with checking in and you fly to Luxor. Arriving staff transfers you to the Sonesta Luxor Hotel or the Maritim Kings Island Resort. At either hotel you will have a Deluxe Nile view room. In the evening attend the Karnak Temple sound and light show. Overnight Luxor (Buffet Breakfast)
03: (Monday) CRUISE, TEMPLE OF KARNAK AND TEMPLE OF LUXOR
Staff will meet you in the hotel lobby for transfer to your Deluxe Five Star Nile Cruiser, the M/S Amarco I (or upgrade to the Premier cruiser, M/S Saint George*). Lunch on board then visit the Temple of Luxor and Temple of Karnak. Dinner followed by Evening entertainment (please check with reception for the program schedule). 04: (Tuesday) NECROPOLIS OF THEBES, CRUISE TO EDFU
Enjoy a tour of Luxor's Necropolis of Thebes including the Valley
of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi
of Memnon. After the tour return to the ship for lunch while cruising to Esna. Cross the river lock and continue cruising to Edfu. Dinner. Evening entertainment. Overnight Cruise / Edfu (Buffet Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
05: (Wednesday) TEMPLE OF HORUS, TEMPLE OF TWO GODS, CRUISE TO ASWAN
Temple of Horus, the best preserved of all the Nile temples. Have lunch while cruising to Kom Ombo. Evening guided tour of the Temple of two gods. The building is unique because its double design means that there are courts, halls, sanctuaries and rooms duplicated for two gods, Sobek and Haroeris. Dinner while cruising to Aswan. 07: (Friday) FLY TO CAIRO, GIZA PYRAMIDS PLUS SOUND AND LIGHT SHOW
Disembark the cruise. Staff will transfer you to the airport and assist with checking in for a flight to Cairo. Arriving, visit the Giza Plateau featuring the Great Pyramid and Sphinx. After the tour staff will transfer you to the Mena House Hotel where you will enjoy a Pyramid view garden room. In the evening attend the Giza sound and light show. Overnight Cairo (Buffet Breakfast)
08: (Saturday) SAQQARA, DAHSHUR, MEMPHIS
Tour Saqqara with the famous stepped pyramid (including entry to the elaborate tombs of Mereruka, vizier to king Teti and the recently opened tomb of Maia (King Tut's wet nurse and maybe half sister). Dahshur with the first of the stone pyramids (the Bent and the Red), Imhotep's museum (architect of the stone pyramids) and the ruins of the ancient capital of Memphis. 09: (Sunday) FLY TO ISRAEL
Staff transfers you to the airport, assists with exit formalities and checking in for your flight to Tel Aviv. Arriving clear immigration and customs then meet our staff in the terminal. They will transfer you to Jerusalem and the American Colony hotel. Overnight Jerusalem (Buffet Breakfast)
VISAS: All travelers to Israel must have a visa. USA citizens can obtain one on arrival. Please let us know what passport you are traveling with and we will confirm whether you can get yours on arrival.
10: (Monday) NEW CITY
Meet your guide in the hotel lobby at 8:30AM for a sightseeing tour of the new city. Drive to Mt. Scopus for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Visit the Garden of Gethsemane and Church of the Agony. Continue on to the Israel Museum to visit the Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea Scrolls and the beautifully renovated Model of Herodian Jerusalem, depicting the city at the time of the Second Temple. Continue to Yad VaShem, Israel's national memorial to the holocaust. Afternoon visit the Hadassah medical center's synagogue, with Marc Chagall stained glass windows. Return to hotel via Ein Kerem (the birthplace of John the Baptist). Overnight Jerusalem (Breakfast)
11: (Tuesday) OLD CITY
Walk with your guide through one of the Gates to the walled Old City: the renewed Jewish Quarter; the Western Wall, the Temple Mount area; the colorful bazaars and the Via Dolorosa ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Drive to Mt. Zion and visit the tomb of King David, the Room of the Last Supper and Dormition Abbey. Afternoon continue to Bethlehem* to visit Rachel's Tomb and the Church of the Nativity. Return to Jerusalem for overnight. Overnight Jerusalem (Breakfast)
12: (Wednesday) CAESAREA, NAZARETH, SEA OF GHALILEE
Drive with your guide north via the coast to the ancient port of King Herod at Caesarea. Continue to Nazareth to visit the holy sites then end the day on the shore of the Sea of Ghalilee at the Scot's hotel. Overnight Tiberias (Breakfast)
13: (Thursday) TIBERIAS, MOUNT BERENICE, MOUNT OF BEATITUDES
Guided tour of the sites around the Sea including the old city, Mount Berenice, the Mount of Beatitudes and the baptism site on the Jordan river. Overnight Tiberias (Breakfast)
14: (Friday) BEIT SHEAN, CROSS TO JORDAN, JERASH, DEAD SEA
Staff transfers you to the border crossing at Beit Shean, assists with exit formalities and you cross to Jordan. Arriving staff assists with clearing immigration and customs then enjoy a tour to Jerash, the best preserved of all the Roman Decapolis cities. Continue to the shore of the Dead Sea. 15: (Saturday) KINGS HIGHWAY, MADABA, MT. NEBO, KERAK, PETRA
Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and drive along the 5,000 year old Kings Highway to Madaba (the city of Mosaics, where the oldest known map of the holy land is set in a church floor), Mt. Nebo, where Moses looked on the promised land. Continue to Kerak to see the Crusader castle then on to Petra to overnight at the famous Movenpick resort, right at the entrance to the "Rose Red City" where you will have a superior room. 17: (Monday) INTERNATIONAL DEPARTURE
