Fully escorted from your arrival to Cairo this PRIVATE tour features luxury historical properties including former palaces and Grand hotels plus a 5 day / 4 night Nile cruise aboard aboard King Farouk's Royal yacht. This is the history tour for lovers of the Belle Epoque era.

Highlights include:
Mena House (Cairo): where you will enjoy the comfort of a palace, pyramid view room. This former palace was built in the 1880's as a hunting lodge for the Emperor of the Ottoman Empire.

Winter Palace (Luxor) Where you will have a Luxury Nile view room at this famous hotel built in 1905. It has hosted such notables at Lord Carnarvon (financial supporter of Howard Carter who found King Tut's tomb) and royalty from all over the world. It's listed on the exclusive Palace Hotels of the World.

The SS Misr: (Luxor to Aswan 5 day / 4 night Steamboat cruise). Commissioned by the English Navy in 1918 it was converted to a luxury yacht for King Farouk in 1938. Lovingly restored to it's original grandeur with modern amenities but retaining it's original character.

Old Cataract Hotel (Aswan) Built in 1899 for travelers stopping over in Aswan on their way to visit the temples of Ramses at Abu Simbel, it has hosted regal guests including Tsar Nicholas II, Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie, Princess Diana and now you. You are certain to enjoy the river view from your Palace Premium room.

Add to the enjoyment of these fabulous properties an Egyptologist that escorts you throughout the tour bringing to life 5,000 years of history and introducing you to the unique culture of Egypt.

Day 01: (Thursday) ARRIVAL, MENA HOUSE
Arriving Cairo staff assists with clearing immigration and customs then transfers you to the Mena House hotel where you will have a Pyramid view garden room. Overnight Cairo

VISAS: All travelers to Egypt are required to obtain a visa for entry. Citizens of certain countries can currently obtain one on arrival however this is subject to change without notice. The best thing is to obtain your visa in advance. In most countries these can be obtained from an Egyptian consulate.

A full day tour of Saqqara with it's famous Stepped Pyramid including entry to the elaborate tombs of Mereruka (vizier to king Teti) and the recently opened tomb of Maia (King Tut's wet nurse and maybe half sister). Dahshur with it's famous Bent and Red Pyramids plus the new Imhotep museum. Visit the ruins of Memphis, the ancient capital. Overnight Cairo (Buffet Breakfast)

Cairo Opera House
Meet your guide in the hotel lobby for a tour of the Giza plateau featuring the Great Pyramid and Sphinx. Spend the afternoon at the Egyptian National Museum where you will be amazed by King Tut's treasures. Overnight Cairo (Buffet Breakfast)

Winter Palace
Day 04:
Staff transfers you to the Cairo airport, assists with checking in and you fly to Luxor. Arriving enjoy a tour of the Temple of Hathor at Dendarah before transferring to the famous Winter Palace hotel where you will have a Luxury Nile view room. Overnight Luxor (Buffet Breakfast)

S/S Misr

Meet your guide in the hotel lobby at 9AM for a tour of the Luxor museum. After the tour board your Steamboat Nile Cruiser, the S/S Misr. Lunch on board. After lunch visit the temples of Karnak and Luxor. Afternoon tea, Dinner on board. Overnight Cruise / Luxor (Buffet Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Tour the Necropolis of Thebes including the Valley of the Kings where you will see King Tut's tomb and others, the Valley of the Queens, Queen Hatshepsut's temple and the Colossi of Memnon. Return to the ship, cruise to Esna while having lunch. Cross the river locks and cruise to Edfu. Afternoon tea and dinner on board. Overnight Cruise / Edfu (Buffet Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

S/S Misr RestaurantDay 07: (Wednesday) HORUS TEMPLE, TEMPLE OF TWO GODS, SAIL TO ASWAN
Breakfast on board then visit the Horus Temple in Edfu, best preserved of all the Nile temples. Cruise to Kom Ombo while having lunch. Arriving tour the temple shared by two gods, Sobek & Haroeis. The temple is unique because its double design means that there are courts, halls, sanctuaries and rooms duplicated for two gods. Afternoon tea while sailing to Aswan. Dinner on board. Overnight Cruise / Aswan (Buffet Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Tour the High Dam, the Temple of Philae and the unfinished obelisk at the pharaohs granite quarries. Lunch on board then a FREE BONUS: Sail on the Nile by felucca (native sailboat). (Please note that these boats are solely wind powered, if there is no wind this will not operate). Afternoon tea. Dinner on board. Overnight Cruise / Aswan (Buffet Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Old Cataract Hotel
Day 09:
Disembarkation. Staff transfers you to the airport, assists with checking in and you fly to Abu Simbel with your private guide. Arriving tour the famous temples of Ramses then return to Aswan. Arriving staff transfers you to the famous Old Cataract hotel where you will have a Palace Premium Nile view room. Overnight Aswan (Buffet Breakfast)

Staff transfers you to the airport, assists with checking in and you fly to Cairo. Arriving staff transfers you to the Villa Belle Epoque hotel with a Deluxe room or if you have an early morning flight we can use the Le Meridien Airport Hotel at the Cairo airport. Overnight Cairo (Buffet Breakfast)

Staff transfers you to the airport, assists with exit formalities and checking in for your international departure. (meals on the flight)

This PRIVATE TOUR Includes: Includes domestic flights within Egypt (in business class when available). All transfers by air-conditioned vehicle relating to the tour program starting with arrival to Cairo. Baggage handling of no more than 1 piece of luggage per person however baggage and personal effects are at the owner's risk at all time during the tour (baggage handling does NOT include tips for bellmen, porters, etc.). Hotels (based on double occupancy). 5 star Premier Steamboat cruise. Meals as outlined. Included meals are in the main dining room, no speciality restaurants or room service is included. Fees for visiting antiquity sites and museums. Services of an English speaking licensed Egyptologist. Service charges and taxes.

NOT included are: INTERNATIONAL AIR, items of a personal nature such as tips (tipping guideline), entry visa, phone calls, laundry, beverages of any nature at any time, any items not specifically covered in the included items.

All hotels and the cruises have laundry/dry cleaning available.

Laundry in before 9AM is back at 6PM.

Dry cleaning is available with prices about the same as laundry.
Children's clothes are generally 50% of the adult cost.


No drinks are included in tour prices. Some hotels and cruises give one bottle of water free daily others do not. As a general guide you could expect to pay:
Bottled water at hotels or on the cruise: $1 to $3 for a small bottle, $2.50-$5 for a large bottle.
NOTE: This is filtered water. If you order perrier it will cost more.
Coffee or Tea: 50 cents
Soft drinks (Coke, Pepsi, etc): $1 each
Alcoholic drinks:
Local beer: $3 per bottle
Imported beer: $5 to $8 per bottle
Wine: local $4 to $6 per glass. imported will be more $$.
Liquor: local $5 per cocktail + cost of mixer (soft drink, juice, etc), imported $8-$15 per cocktail + cost of mixer)
ICE: In the hotels and on the cruise the ice is prepared from filtered water.

Guaranteed Weekly Departures October through April

October thru April (excluding holidays): $5,225 per person, double occupancy
Holiday supplement (Christmas, New Year, Easter): +$1200 per person.
Single supplement*: +$2,265 (total cost of $7,488 for a single room/cabin)
NO triples allowed.

*The single supplement is based on a minimum party of two travelers.
For one single traveler there is additional cost of +$500 for a total tour cost of $7,988
